The Forza Horizon 5 file size varies by platform, but it’s over 100GB regardless of how one chooses to play it. Those on PC and and Xbox Series X are looking at a 103GB download, whereas those hoping to play Forza Horizon 5 on Xbox One will have to download a massive 116GB file. Meanwhile, those who plan on playing the Steam version on PC can’t preload just yet, though Playground Games has said that it will provide an update on its social media when Steam preloading is available.

Anyone with an Xbox Game Pass subscription or that has pre-ordered Forza Horizon 5 can preload the game now, though it’s always possible that a day one update will be pushed out come launch. If that happens, Forza Horizon 5 fans may hit a roadblock the first time they try to play the game, but they should still be well ahead of the curve regardless if they take the time to download the 103-116GB in advance.

The official Forza Horizon 5 release date is November 9, but fans will have the opportunity to play it early if they so desire. Those who purchase the Forza Horizon 5 Premium Edition will get early access to the game and be able to jump in on November 5 instead. This will give them a four day headstart against everyone else, which may very well be worth the asking price for diehard fans who don’t want to wait for the Xbox Game Pass version.

Playground Games has an impressive track record when it comes to its Forza Horizon titles, with every game in the series so far releasing to widespread critical acclaim. There’s no reason to think that Forza Horizon 5 won’t enjoy the same warm reception, especially as it’s the most visually-impressive and ambitious game in the series to date. Familiarity and franchise fatigue may set in for some, but it’s likely that this will be the last Forza Horizon game for awhile, which could help matters.

Microsoft may hand the reigns of the Forza Horizon series to another developer, but next on Playground Games’ plate is the Fable reboot. In development as a next-generation exclusive game, the new Fable game is mostly shrouded in mystery for now, but it will be exciting to see what shape it takes whenever the reveal happens.
