The Fortnite Twitter account recently shared a brief video of the battle royale island alongside an announcement that ominously proclaimed, “nothing ever lasts forever.” The Fortnite island has evolved over the years as Epic Games continued to update the game, with new points of interest like Herald’s Sanctum and Cloudy Condos replacing original locations like Loot Lake or Pleasant Park. With Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 ending on December 3, fans can expect a number of POI changes assuming the whole map isn’t destroyed in the fracture that Epic Games has been teasing.

The Fortnite video shared with the Chapter 3 announcement begins with the introduction of Paradise, highlighting Rave Cave and the bay surrounding The Foundation statue before the camera zooms out to show the space around the island, which was shown during the last event. As it then shows the Fortnite Reality Tree, which played a prominent role in Chapter 3 Season 4, the video starts to crack to alter the word Paradise into Fracture, the name of the next season. The clip then swiftly flashes between multiple scenes to show the Zero Point, a powerful chrome tornado, and multiple Fortnite skins that are powerlessly watching things break apart, potentially teasing the December 3 event.
Fortnite has been a popular battle royale since its beta introduction in 2017, but Chapter 3 introduced a new unique way for fans to play Fortnite with zero build mode, which spiked the game’s popularity once again. Chapter 2 finished with the island flipping in the ocean as the Foundation attempted to escape the Cube Queen’s wrath, but Chapter 3’s island introduced many storyline problems of its own. Because the Fortnite Zero Point has been a central focus of each season and has been laying dormant at the bottom of the lake above Tilted Towers, it may play a role in the Chapter 3 finale event.
As some players expressed their distaste for Fortnite Paradise and its map, others simply stated their excitement for the big Chapter 3 event on Saturday and its implications. One eagle-eyed Fortnite fan was quick to point out that the announcement video included a glimpse at the two-shot shotgun with a dot sight on it which may be a weapon featured in the new season’s arsenal.
Fortnite is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
