Now, Fortnite players have their answer. Available in the item shop today, Skull Trooper has returned as part of the Skull Squad set alongside Skull Ranger, though they are tinted green now. They also have an accompanying blue scythe and a new glider. The Ghost Portal back bling can be unlocked through challenges associated with the skin.

Skull Trooper will set players back 1,500 V-Bucks, Skull Ranger costs players 1,200, Crypt Cruiser costs players 1,200, and Skull Sickle costs players 1200. It seems likely many have been waiting for this and will fork over the necessary V-bucks to unlock it. Check out the challenges to unlock the Ghost Portal below:

One thing that is usually controversial about the return of rare skins like this - even in this variant form - is that owners of the original skin feel they are devalued. Epic Games is likely aware of this and has seemingly made an olive branch for those seasoned players. Now, according to Fortnite’s French Twitter account, previous owners of the Skull Trooper will get an exclusive purple variant of the costume. Check out that announcement here:

These skins variants are arriving just in time for the holidays, as this is likely to be a popular skin played for the remainder of the season. As season 6 rolls on, there is still plenty to do such as preparing for the season 6 week 3 challenges. Tell us, Ranters, what do you think about the return of Skull Trooper and addition of Skull Ranger?

Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and iOS. A beta is currently taking place on Android devices.
